Building outfits with my thrifty finds

Shopping at thrift stores has become an obsession for me, I love it. The pictures I have posted are collages of the outfits I build with my thrifty finds.

Each outfit has at least one thrifted piece, usually more. Some are the whole outfit, except the jewelry. I combine my Silpada Design jewels with my thrifty finds and build a stunning outfit.

I now wear name brands such as J.Crew, Liz Claibourne, Banana Republic, and Ann Taylor. I have thrifted handbags such as Nine West, Tommy Hilfiger, and Tignanello.

I am relatively new to thrifting and this will be my first seasonal change, and I am excited. I have already started to shop for long sleeves and jackets, and can’t wait till I score a pair of boots.

I love getting my pieces home and building an outfit from what I have in my closet. How do you thrift shop? Do you look for specifics, or just what you like?

Technologically challenged but willing to learn

Creating this blog has been a great but unexpected experience, and I will be the first to admit, I am not very savy with the technology of today. I upgraded my smartphone a little over 6 months ago to the Samsung Galaxy Note II, and still don’t know how to use most of the features. The fact that I can email, text and Facebook on a huge screen has been enough for me so far, but now that I have ventured into this new territory of blogging and media sharing, I am ready to learn more. I have to give myself a pat on the back, I created this wordpress blog totally on my own, and even figured out how to upload photos from my phone without any help, and trust me, this is a big step for me. So now that I have made several posts to the blog, I am ready to learn what all this lingo is and how to navigate and make my blog better, and the ultimate goal is to get more hits and subscribers. Having said that, off to Barnes & Noble we went today, I had a gift card and wanted to see if I could pick up a book or two to teach me everything to help me move forward. I sifted through all the books and found the one I was comfortable with, and even found a magazine about android phones, and I am ready to start my reading and hopefully learning. Hopefully I will be able to make some changes for the better and I can keep the audience I have and get new followers. I also have created a Facebook page, so search for me on Facebook under “All about the accessories” and “like” my page, I post my outfits of the day with much of it being thrifted. I also sell Silpada jewelry , my favorite accessories, and build my outfits on the cheap. Well time to dive into my books, see you soon, wish me luck!!!
